Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Keshia Cameron, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 7 years of experience supporting individuals across academic and private practice settings. My work has always centered on helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered—especially those who have often had to navigate spaces where they felt overlooked or misunderstood.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked closely with college students as an academic advisor, advocate, and retention specialist, supporting both their academic success and emotional well-being. That experience deepened my commitment to making mental health care more accessible and affirming for underrepresented communities, particularly Black and Afro-Caribbean individuals.

In my work, I use a strengths-based and motivational approach to help you reconnect with your resilience while also addressing the deeper challenges you may be facing. I believe therapy should feel like a partnership—one where you are supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.

My approach to therapy

My approach is both clinically grounded and culturally attuned, with a deep respect for the lived experiences of Afro-Caribbean and Black adults. I create a space where you don’t have to explain your identity, code-switch, or minimize what you’ve been through. I also honor the role of spirituality and faith—whether that’s a source of strength, a place of questioning, or something you’re still figuring out.

I am warm, direct, and intentional in my style. I won’t just sit back and nod—I’ll engage with you, reflect honestly, and gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Together, we’ll explore anxiety, burnout, relationship dynamics, family expectations, and the deeper emotional wounds that often go unspoken in our communities.

My strength is helping you move from survival mode into a more grounded, aligned version of yourself. That means learning how to set boundaries without guilt, process what you’ve been holding in, and reconnect with your voice, your needs, and your sense of self. This work is not about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you return to yourself with clarity, strength, and wholeness.

What you can expect from me

This first session is also about connection. You’ll get a sense of my style—warm, direct, and engaged—and I’ll make sure you feel heard and respected. We’ll begin identifying your goals and what you want to shift or heal, whether that’s managing stress, working through past experiences, or finding more balance and clarity in your life.

By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with a better understanding of how we can work together and what the next steps may look like. Most importantly, you’ll have taken the first step toward giving yourself the support you may not have had space for before.
