Great to meet you!

My name is Kim Dallas, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 19 years of dedicated experience supporting individuals through life’s most challenging chapters. I earned my Master of Social Work from Adelphi University in 2005 and have spent nearly two decades refining my approach to therapy. Whether working in hospitals, public institutions, or private practice, my goal has always remained the same: to create a space where clients feel truly heard and empowered.

Beyond my clinical credentials—which include advanced training in CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy—I am a firm believer that therapy is a partnership. I am deeply passionate about working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and neurodivergence, recognizing that every person deserves a tailored approach that celebrates their unique strengths and autonomy.

On a personal note, I am a mother of 3 young adult children, and I understand firsthand the importance of family bonds and the value of having a supportive person in your corner when navigating life’s transitions. Outside of my work, I share my home with two small dogs and two cats who bring endless warmth and joy to my daily life. These personal experiences help me bring a grounded, empathetic perspective to my clinical practice.

My approach to therapy

I believe change happens when you are ready. My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused. I believe in understanding someone’s heart and seeing them for who they want to be. My empathy and compassion show through in my work. I look forward to helping individuals reach their life goals.

Navigating life with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) or neurodivergence requires an approach that recognizes every individual’s unique strengths, dignity, and potential. I specialize in providing compassionate, person-centered telehealth support for individuals across the lifespan living with developmental and intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and their families.

My virtual practice focuses on creating a safe, structured, and validating space where we can work together on functional daily goals, emotional regulation, navigating major life transitions, and building independence. I utilize person-centered behavioral strategies and gentle behavior modification techniques focused on positive reinforcement, practical skill-building, and self-advocacy.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, the client can expect to be treated with respect, and a lot of time is spent getting to know the client and taking the extra time to form a good therapeutic relationship.
