Great to meet you!

I am a Black Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling , a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, along with 13 years of teaching experience. My background in special education, autism, and learning disabilities allows me to bring a deeper level of understanding and support to clients with diverse needs.

I am especially passionate about helping adolescent and adult women who struggle with depression, low self-worth, and challenges related to identity and personal growth. I also have over 12 years of experience as a Christian counselor and offer faith-based therapy for those who desire it. For clients who prefer a non-religious approach, I also provide spiritually focused support centered on personal growth, purpose, and connection.

My Approach

My style is warm, direct, and engaging. I value honesty and open communication, but more importantly, I value creating a safe place for my client’s to feel heard, and I encourage clients to be active participants in their healing process. I also incorporate mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and creative elements like music when appropriate to support emotional expression and stress reduction.

Areas of Focus

  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Self-esteem and identity development
  • ADHD and Bipolar Disorder
  • Personality Disorders
  • Substance Use and Behavioral Concerns
  • Parenting and Family Conflict
  • Anger Management
  • Divorce, Blended Families, and Grief

My approach to therapy

I take an integrative, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Insight-Oriented Therapy. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and supportive, while also providing structure through goal-setting and practical tools for change.

I also support individuals navigating life transitions, and help clients build resilience and develop healthy coping strategies.

What you can expect from me

I am dedicated to providing culturally competent, inclusive, and affirming care for individuals of all backgrounds. I have experience working with LGBTQ+ clients, as well as individuals and families impacted by homelessness, immigration-related stress, and trauma. I remain mindful of my own biases and strive to create a safe, respectful space where each client feels heard and valued. I find fulfillment in truly getting to know my clients—understanding their experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we work to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
