My approach to therapy

My approach is built on warmth and empathy; I aim to create a space where you can be your authentic self. We’ll navigate the highs and lows together, sharing everything from deep reflections to laughter as we work toward your goals. Whether you’re processing the past or feeling uneasy about the future, I’m here to listen and walk beside you on this journey.

My practice is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person Centered techniques. This means our work together will be both reflective and actionable. We won't just talk about the 'why,' we will develop the practical tools you need to create meaningful change. I believe in an approach that is goal-oriented, rooted in empathy and your experiences.

What you can expect from me

First and foremost, this is your time. You are the expert on your own life. My job isn't to judge you or tell you who to be; it’s to provide a warm, empathetic environment where you feel safe enough to be your authentic self.

  • No "Doctor-Patient" Stiffness: We’ll talk like two human beings.
  • Total Empathy: I’m here to listen deeply and understand the world through your eyes.

Once we’ve settled in, we’ll start looking at the specific challenges you’re facing. CBT helps us see how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected in a loop.

  • Goal Setting: We’ll discuss what you actually want to change.
  • The Loop: We might sketch out a recent situation to see how a single thought might be triggering a difficult emotion or a physical sensation.

During this first hour, we aren't going to "fix" everything, and that’s okay. Our objectives are simple:

  1. Build Trust: To see if we "click" and if you feel comfortable sharing with me.
  2. Gather History: I’ll ask some questions about your background to understand the context of your life.
  3. Collaborative Plan: We’ll decide on a starting point that feels manageable for you.

A Note on Pace: We move at your speed. If you aren't ready to dive into a specific topic, we don't dive. You are always in the driver’s seat.

You don't need to bring a "script" or a formal list of problems. Just bring yourself. If you have specific goals in mind, great! If you just feel "off" and don't know why, that’s also a perfect place to start.
