Great to meet you!

I am a licensed counselor in Georgia and Tennessee with over 25 years of professional counseling experience. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 1992 and my Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2000. I later completed my Post‐Master’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Certification at Freed‐Hardeman University in 2019. I have worked in private practice and as a crisis assessor, supporting adults, couples, children, and families. I specialize in anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, and crisis intervention. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence‐based practices.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, compassionate approach to therapy, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing openly. I believe therapy works best when it is tailored to the individual, so I meet clients where they are and work at a pace that feels right for them.

I draw from evidence‐based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, client‐centered, interpersonal, and mindfulness‐based techniques. These approaches help clients gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and build emotional resilience.

I work with adults, couples, children, and families facing concerns such as anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, anger, and crisis situations. My goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered as they move toward meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a time to slow things down and begin in a supportive, welcoming environment. My priority is helping you feel comfortable, heard, and respected. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns you may have about the process. There is no pressure to share more than you’re ready for.

I take a collaborative approach, so we’ll begin identifying goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. Some clients want relief from immediate stress or crisis, while others are looking for deeper understanding and long‐term change. Together, we’ll clarify next steps and focus on what will be most helpful moving forward.

Above all, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly and begin building trust. Therapy is a process, and the first session is simply the beginning of working together toward greater balance, clarity, and well‐being.
