Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Kindall Tyson, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), National Certified Counselor, and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) based in Texas. I'm the founder of Aspire Counseling & Wellness Center, and I've had the privilege of walking alongside clients in community mental health, private practice, group homes, and both domestic and international school settings — including six years living and working in Beijing, China. That experience deepened my belief that immersing yourself in other cultures teaches you how to better empathize with others and understand yourself more fully, a value that shapes how I show up with every client.

My specialties include ADHD, anxiety-related disorders, mood disorders, perfectionism, interpersonal challenges, trauma, and life adjustments, etc. I also have extensive experience supporting clients navigating burnout and professional anxiety and stress, racial traumatic stress, parenting challenges, career transitions, adolescent motivation and college readiness, and the unique adjustments that come with living abroad as an expatriate.

My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and integrative — tailoring our work to fit who you are and what you need. Ethical, culturally responsive care is at the heart of my practice.

I believe you already hold the tools to create meaningful change in your life; my role is to help you uncover them with empathy and intention. If you're ready to reclaim your power, rediscover your purpose, and become the healthiest version of yourself, I'd be honored to support you on the journey.

My approach to therapy

I take a culturally responsive approach to therapy, and my style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I see therapy as a partnership — you bring your story, your goals, and your lived experience, and I bring clinical expertise, curiosity, and a steady presence to help you make sense of what's happening and move forward with clarity. I'm engaged, direct when it's helpful, and genuinely invested in the work we do together.

I practice from a technically integrative framework, which means I tailor the approach to you rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all protocol. Depending on what you're working through, our sessions may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment-based interventions. Early on, we'll clarify what you want to work on, identify what's getting in the way, and build a plan that feels doable, not overwhelming.

Culturally responsive care is a core part of how I practice, not an add-on. I consider the full context of your identity, culture, family system, and environment, and I hold space for the systemic and generational pressures that often shape the struggles my clients bring into the room.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to enter a space that feels safe but not passive. During the intake session, we begin to establish a therapeutic rapport, review the informed consent and other therapy guidelines, and help you to identify the preliminary goals that you desire to work toward. This session sets the tone for the therapeutic work, and I encourage clients to think about how they want their lives to improve during the therapy process. My hope is that you leave our work with a deeper sense of self-awareness, stronger coping strategies, and a renewed connection to your power, purpose, and well-being.
