Great to meet you!

I began my career in mental health at the age of 18 working in direct care at a state hospital in my city. From there, I fell in love with building partnerships with people for the common goal of their healing. I have worked in a multitude of roles within behavioral healthcare, all culminating in and informing my practice as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I believe that people have all of the tools, within themselves, to succeed and my role is a partner in helping them locate and utilize those tools to their best advantage. I love watching people gain the insight necessary to realize, and then actualize, their potential.

My approach to therapy

I take a strong, eclectic approach to therapy - drawing on a multitude of modalities to form a specific approach to each client and their needs. My style tends toward person centered and humanistic, with awareness and use of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I love to learn, and am continually expanding my knowledge and skills to better serve my clients.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I am very curious about the road that led to this destination. I enjoy the psychosocial history process and use this information throughout our time together. I want to learn how you came to be who you are, where the challenges originated that we will be exploring, but also what makes you unique and the skills and strengths you possess that brought you this far. The first session is all about getting to know each other, building rapport, and addressing expectations.
