Great to meet you!

I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, with a Masters in Social Work from Stony Brook University. I have over 15 years of experience in the Social Work field and have worked with both adolescents and adults in various settings including colleges/universities, non-profit agencies, and in the medical field.

My approach to therapy

I have experience treating survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma. I have worked with medical and higher-education. I have experience in treating anxiety and depressive disorders, adjustment disorders, PTSD, ADHD, grief and medical co-morbidities. Throughout my career, I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Comprehensive Assessment, Crisis Management, Integrative Dual Disorder Treatment, Meditative Techniques, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also working towards my Perinatal Mental Health Certificate to be able to treat and service prenatal, pregnant and postpartum mothers.

I believe in tailoring therapy to the needs of each individual person. My therapeutic style focuses on the needs of the client as well as integrating holistic approaches. I believe that the individual is an integral part of the therapeutic process and emphasize working together as a team in the client’s treatment goals. I pride myself in the ability to create a healing environment for my patients where they feel supported and safe.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you—what brings you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping to get out of our work together. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and strengths, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. We’ll also begin to identify initial goals and discuss what approaches might feel most helpful for you. My priority is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported from the very start.
