My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care

I take a patient‐centered, collaborative, and holistic approach to care. I believe treatment works best when clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about their mental health. I focus on understanding the whole person—not just symptoms—by considering emotional, physical, social, and cultural factors.

My care is evidence‐based and individualized, combining thoughtful medication management when appropriate with psychoeducation and supportive therapy. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship, promoting safety and trust, and empowering clients with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve lasting stability and improved quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you in. I will complete a comprehensive psychiatric and psychosocial assessment, including your current concerns, mental health history, medical history, medications, and lifestyle factors. We will also discuss your goals for treatment and what you hope to gain from care.

You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you are encouraged to ask questions and share openly at your own pace. By the end of the session, we will review initial impressions, discuss treatment options, and outline a personalized plan that may include therapy, medication management, and practical coping strategies, with clear next steps moving forward.
