Great to meet you!

Welcome to my page!

If you've danced with the idea of therapy, or tried therapy in the past but haven't made the progress you were hoping for - I may be the therapist for you.

Coming from a unique educational background, I bring a vast range of clinical experiences, and a creative, eclectic approach to my work. I strive to help clients live their most authentic lives, while empowering clients to build their own autonomy and independence.

I often think of the proverb:

  • Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I will not give you a fish, but I will teach you to fish.

A little about me:

I completed my undergraduate degree in neuroscience and behavior where I engaged in research focusing on learned behaviors. Following this, I completed my masters degree in rehabilitation and disability studies where my research focused on nonverbal communication, and traumatic brain injuries. Post completion of my masters in 2018, I began a PhD in counselor education and supervision where I have focused on the training of counselors, clinical supervision, and research focusing on program development for marginalized populations. I hold the credentials of Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in CT, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Over the past 8 years, I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups; serving in a variety of settings from adult substance use treatment to outpatient children and family work, crisis groups for suicide survivors to vocational counseling, disability services to academic success...and many in between.

When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy reading, skiing, spending time outdoors, live music, painting, photography and spending time with my pets.

My approach to therapy

I identify as a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed therapist. I work with my clients in a compassionately candid manner, meaning, that I centralize empathy, authenticity, clear communication, balanced feedback, and active listening within a safe and supportive environment. I actively work to decolonize my own therapeutic process, by addressing the intersectionality between systemic oppression, cultural identity, community connection, and the validation of our lived experiences.

What you can expect from me

In my work as a therapist, I use an eclectic approach by combining philosophies and strategies from multiple theoretical backgrounds to create a framework that best meets each client’s individual needs and goals.

During our first session, we will work on building that framework. Additionally, we’ll use this time to get to know each other, outline your specific goals for therapy, and determine whether working together for therapy will be a good fit!
