Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Lisette, a licensed psychologist specializing in working with first-generation professionals, Latinx individuals, and high-achievers who are navigating the unique pressures that can come with being the first in their family to forge a new path. I understand the challenges of balancing personal ambitions, family expectations, cultural values, and the pursuit of success, and I strive to create a space where all parts of your experience are welcomed and understood.

I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon and have been providing therapy for over a decade. My approach is culturally responsive, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients build insight, resilience, and self-compassion while working toward meaningful personal and professional goals.

Sessions are available in both English and Spanglish, allowing clients to express themselves in the language that feels most natural and authentic. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered as you navigate life’s challenges and create a path that feels aligned with your values and aspirations.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally informed. I believe that understanding where you come from—your family, culture, values, and lived experiences—is an important part of understanding who you are and where you want to go. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, which is why I tailor our work together to your unique experiences, goals, and vision for your life.

I strive to create a supportive space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to explore challenges, build insight, and create meaningful change. In addition to our sessions, I often incorporate resources such as articles, worksheets, reflective exercises, and practical tools to help reinforce growth and self-discovery between appointments. My goal is to support you not only during our time together, but also in applying what you learn to your everyday life in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust and collaboration. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss the challenges and goals that are most important to you, and begin identifying both your personal and professional aspirations. Together, we’ll define what success looks like for you and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to evaluate or judge you, but to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood from the very first session. Through curiosity, compassion, and collaboration, we’ll begin creating a path forward that aligns with your values, strengths, and vision for your future.
