Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Lori Dickson. I am a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and also a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am working currently in the Professional Counselor (therapist) only and not prescribing medications. I have personally been practicing in psychiatry since 2007. I have had the pleasure to work with clients from ages 13 through 102! I have worked in many settings to include hospitals, long term care facilities, outpatient clinics, hospice practices and the prison system.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize a holistic approach to working with clients. All aspects of social, physical, spiritual and mental health are important. Therapy needs to be a place where a client can be their true self, feel safe and be heard without the fear of judgment. Medication is not for everyone. Each client is an individual and should be treated as such based on their needs and not the needs of someone else, or by a set of steps learned in a book.

What you can expect from our first session

My job is to help clients grow and heal while developing skills to function at their very best in this fast-paced, chaotic world that unfortunately can be very hard at times. We will work together as a team to help you reach your goals and develop the treatment plan that fosters your growth. It is always your decision.
