Great to meet you!

My name is Lynne Matte. I am a psychologist, researcher, meditator, and bilingual therapist (English and Spanish).

Over the years, I have come to believe that healing begins with a simple but profound invitation: to know yourself. Not the version of yourself shaped by expectations, fears, or old survival patterns, but the deeper self that has always been present beneath the noise.

I have spent my career helping people navigate anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, questions of identity, and the many ways we can become disconnected from ourselves. Again and again, I have witnessed how growth emerges when people are given the space to slow down, listen inward, and approach their experiences with curiosity rather than judgment.

My work is grounded in both science and human connection. For more than 15 years, I have been involved in research examining evidence-based interventions and culturally responsive approaches to care. At the same time, I understand that healing is more than a collection of techniques. It is a process of discovering how to live more fully within your own life.

I draw from psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness practices, breathwork, biofeedback, and my experience as a meditator. These approaches help us understand both where your patterns come from and how meaningful change can occur in the present.

As a bilingual therapist, I welcome conversations about culture, family, belonging, and the experiences that shape who we become. I believe our stories matter, and that understanding them can help us move forward with greater freedom and self-compassion.

My approach to therapy

Find Your Way Back to Yourself

Perhaps you've been managing anxiety, relationship challenges, work stress, family concerns, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. Maybe you've spent so much time taking care of others or meeting expectations that you've lost touch with what you truly need.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

My approach is grounded in compassionate, insight-oriented exploration with the goal of helping you understand yourself more deeply and live a more harmonious, integrated life. Over my 25 years as a psychologist, I have found that meaningful change begins with a simple but powerful process: getting to know yourself.

Together, we will explore the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Many of us develop ways of thinking, feeling, and responding that once helped us cope but no longer serve us. These patterns can show up as overthinking, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, or stress held in the body.

I often speak of cultivating "a rested mind"—a way of being that allows you to move through life with greater clarity, self-awareness, and ease. By creating space to pause, reflect, and connect with your inner experience, it becomes possible to respond to life's challenges with greater resilience and confidence.

Whether you are seeking relief from anxiety, navigating a life transition, improving relationships, or simply wanting a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can help you move toward a more grounded and fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

n our first session, I would invite you to begin a journey of self-discovery—one that honors where you've been, helps you understand where you are, and supports where you want to go. Together, we would explore the experiences, relationships, and challenges that have shaped your life, while also identifying the strengths and values that sustain you. As we talk, I would listen for patterns that may be contributing to stress, overwhelm, or feeling stuck, with the goal of helping you cultivate what I call a “rested mind”—a state of greater clarity, balance, and emotional ease. This first conversation would be less about finding immediate answers and more about creating a thoughtful, supportive space where meaningful change can begin.
