Great to meet you!

My name is Mariah Moore and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Temecula, CA, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have experience working in outpatient and higher-level care settings across all ages using a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy along with Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt Play Therapy. My clinical areas of expertise are relationships, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, grief, Autism, and behavior modification.

My approach to therapy

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

  • Instead of trying to "get rid of" painful thoughts or feelings (which often doesn’t work long-term), ACT helps you change your relationship with them. It’s about learning skills to stay present, open up to experience, and take action based on your values, even when life is challenging. Ive seen this method to be beneficial working with clients that struggle with severe depression.

Christian Counseling

  • Christian counseling is a form of therapy that integrates psychological principles with Christian faith and values. I am comfortable with integrating faith in therapy sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

  • CBT is a practical, goal-focused type of therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected—and how changing one can improve the others. This modality is commonly used and I will implement in majority of therapy sessions.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

  • Some people only need therapy for a short period of time to help them move through what ever crisis is presenting in their life at the moment. Solution-Focused Therapy is a goal-oriented, future-focused approach that helps you move forward by building on your strengths, resources, and what’s already working in your life.

EMDR

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps your brain process and heal from difficult or overwhelming experiences, especially those that still feel “stuck” or emotionally charged. Many clients say EMDR feels like their thoughts start to shift on their own. Memories feel more distant, emotions soften, and negative beliefs begin to change.

What you can expect from me

Getting to know your therapist is an important part of the therapeutic journey. We will also be spending the majority of the time talking about what has brought you to therapy and where you want to see difference in your life.
