Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Marissa, owner of Dragonfly Therapy. I help children, teens, adults, and parents navigate anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and the everyday stress that somehow sneaks into all of our lives. As a therapist—and a mom myself—I know that life can feel overwhelming at times, and sometimes we're all just doing our best while reheating the same cup of coffee for the third time.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, creating a safe space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, we'll work together to build coping skills, confidence, and lasting change. Therapy with me is a place where you don't have to have it all figured out—you just have to show up.

I specialize in working with:

• Children struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, or behavioral challenges

• Teens navigating stress, self-esteem, friendships, and life transitions

• Adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, or overwhelm

• Mothers and parents seeking support, balance, and reassurance that they're not alone

I offer in-person therapy in Winter Garden, Florida, as well as virtual therapy throughout Florida.

My approach to therapy

Therapy doesn't require you to have all the answers—it simply asks that you show up as you are. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and supported exactly where you are in your journey. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in a person-centered philosophy, where I meet each client with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment.

Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, whether that means processing difficult experiences, celebrating progress, shedding a few tears, or occasionally laughing at the wonderfully messy reality of being human. After all, life doesn't exactly come with a manual, and none of us are expected to have it all figured out.

I tailor therapy to each client's unique needs and goals, drawing from evidence-based approaches while honoring their strengths and experiences. When working with children, I often incorporate play therapy techniques to help them express emotions, develop coping skills, and communicate in ways that feel natural and developmentally appropriate.

Together, we'll work to better understand challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change—one step at a time.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel exciting, nerve-wracking, or maybe a little of both—and that's completely okay. Your first session is all about getting to know each other. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace, whether you come in ready to talk or you're thinking, "I have absolutely no idea where to start."

There's no pressure to have everything figured out or tell your entire life story right away (seriously, we'll save some things for session two!). We'll talk about what's been bringing you stress or challenges, explore your goals for therapy, and begin creating a plan together that feels right for you.

Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the journey ahead. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone—I’m here to support you every step of the way.
