Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I’m Markia, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I specialize in working with adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and emotional dysregulation. I completed my master's at the University of South Florida in rehabilitation and mental health counseling.

In our work together, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered therapy—tailoring each session to meet your unique needs and goals.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and affirming . I believe that healing happens in a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard and respected.

Whether you're seeking to understand yourself better, heal from past wounds, build emotional resilience, or learn new coping strategies, I’m here to support you with compassion, skill, and authenticity. Together, we’ll work to create meaningful and lasting change in your life.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect to feel supported, understood, and empowered. Therapy with me is more than just talking—it's a space for growth, clarity, and practical change. Clients often leave sessions with:

  • Increased Self-Awareness You'll gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and behaviors—and how they connect to your current challenges.
  • Tools for Emotional Regulation Learn and practice evidence-based strategies to manage overwhelming emotions like anxiety, anger, sadness, and fear in real-time.
  • Greater Confidence and Self-Worth We’ll challenge negative self-beliefs and build a more compassionate, empowered view of yourself.
  • Healthier Relationships Explore boundaries, communication styles, and attachment patterns to improve your connections with others—whether family, partners, or friends.
  • Clarity and Direction Whether you're facing a specific decision or just feeling stuck, therapy can help you explore options and move forward with greater confidence.

Above all, therapy is a space for you—your pace, your voice, your healing. I'm here to walk alongside you as you create a more grounded, connected, and fulfilling life.
