Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Mary Grace C. Tirey. When I first began my career, my primary goal was simply to help people in any way I could. I dedicated myself to the physical health and well-being of my patients. However, through my experiences, I began to see something deeper. I saw how much a person's mental health can affect their entire life, and how connected it is to their physical health. This realization truly changed my path.

It led me to specialize in mental health, because I wanted to offer more than just physical care. I want to provide a space where you can be open about your struggles, where your emotional and mental well-being are just as important as anything else. I am here to walk alongside you on this journey, and I look forward to working with you to find a path toward healing

My approach to therapy

My approach is centered on a compassionate partnership, and I want you to know that you are not alone in this journey. I see my role as coming alongside you as a trusted and supportive guide, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard and understood. You are in the driver's seat of your own care, and I will always work with you to understand your goals and explore options that feel right for you. My experience, both as a nurse and as an educator, has taught me that healing happens best when we work together and focus on your whole well-being—mind, body, and spirit.

What you can expect from me

For your first session with me, you can expect a warm and supportive welcome. Our time together will be a chance for us to get to know each other, not an intense session where you feel pressured to share everything at once. I will create a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you are in complete control of the pace.

Here is what you can anticipate:

  • A personal conversation: I will begin by asking what brought you here and what you hope to gain from our work together. I'll also want to learn about your background, not just what is challenging right now, to get a holistic view of who you are.
  • Logistics and transparency: We'll go over the basics, such as confidentiality, to build a clear and trusting foundation for our professional relationship. You will also have the opportunity to ask me any questions you have about my approach or what to expect.
  • An opportunity to set goals: As an educator, I believe in working together to create a plan that fits your needs. We'll start identifying the goals that are most important to you, and we'll collaboratively shape a path forward at a pace that feels right for you.
  • A sense of connection: Many people feel a sense of relief after their first session, simply from being heard. My main goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the possibilities that this process can bring into your life.

This is a journey, not a quick fix, and your first session is simply the first step. The most important thing is that you showed up for yourself today, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
