Mary Wilson

Hello! I'm Abigail Wilson, LCSW. I'm an experienced mental health therapist seeing clients in person or remotely from Deland, FL. My specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, self esteem work, relationships, family and codependency issues. I work with all types of clients to help process life's challenges. I believe my role is to walk beside you as you learn to accept, embrace and love your authentic self. Along the way, we can unpack old woulds, learn new coping skills, and laugh together. I believe we are all entitled to create a life we love.

I provide a warm, strengths based humanistic approach to talk therapy. I believe therapy is where clients get to practice relational skills with the therapist but also themselves. We will work on fundamentals like learning to identify and process feelings, learning to prioritize our own emotional well being, learning what our needs are and how that is the basis of boundary setting, relational skills and the journey of self acceptance. This may be through cognitive behavioral therapy for current coping needs, or a psychodynamic relational approach for deeper issues related to attachment issues or issues from childhood. My approach is eclectic, in that I have experience in many modalities, we use the tools that you need at the time. Therapy, when used to make real lasting change, is not a one size fits all model. We cater the approach to you and your specific needs. We do this together.

Our first session will help us get to know each other and determine your needs. From there we can estimate if your needs are brief targeted help, or longer term change. We will come up with a plan together with mutually agreed upon goals we can check in on at specific dates.
