Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in the Tampa Bay area with master’s degrees in Professional Counseling and Addictions & Recovery. For the past decade, I’ve worked with children, adults, and families in various settings like community counseling, residential treatment, prisons, behavioral health hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, hospice care, substance abuse groups, and the criminal justice system. I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and thoughts while preserving their dignity.

My approach to therapy

For the past decade, I have employed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with my clients, helping them to recognize the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical sensations. During the course of therapy, I have guided clients in applying CBT strategies including setting goals, challenging irrational or faulty thoughts, engaging in positive self-talk, role-playing, practicing relaxation techniques, and more.

What you can expect from me

Making that first therapy appointment requires considerable courage, so it's important to know what to expect next. In the initial session, I will introduce myself and share my background as a therapist. I'll clarify that the therapy journey belongs to the client and ensure them that they will have a secure and non-judgmental environment to progress. After the session concludes, the client may reflect on whether to continue with further sessions or arrange a subsequent appointment.
