Great to meet you!

Before graduate school, I gained experience in a supportive staff role in an outpatient clinic. Since earning my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I have worked in college counseling centers, in substance use treatment, and as a supervisor for counselors in training. I feel incredibly lucky to have seen many sides of what goes into treating an individual, and it helps me to maintain a holistic focus when it comes to counseling.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe in a one-size-fits all approach. Even for two people with the same diagnosis, I think it's important to be flexible in counseling. The theoretical approaches I utilize most often are CBT, person-centered, narrative, and trauma-focused. Ultimately I think therapy is most effective when a client feels empowered, rather than directed by a counselor.

What you can expect from me

My perspective is that counseling is a conversation unlike any other. I offer professional insight and a non judgmental space for an individual to process what is going on in their life. I believe therapy works best when a client feels heard and knows that they can advocate for themselves to guide the sessions if they choose to do so. My sessions tend to be flexible, so that they can be goal-oriented when they need to be, or they can be less structured when that is preferred.
