Great to meet you!

Gem Moran (she/they) works with people carrying grief that doesn't fit neatly into a box, navigating difficult life transitions, and people caught in survival patterns their nervous system learned long ago. As a somatic compassion-focused IFS therapist, they create an affirming space to help you build the skills, self-trust, and inner resources to genuinely thrive.

My approach to therapy

My holistic approach to therapy centers the belief that your bones already carry the wisdom to heal. There is magic in the way your system has protected you. My work is helping you find your way back to it. I'm trained in CBT, DBT, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Compassion Focused Therapy, Nonviolent Communication and Hatha Yoga. I trained with Tara Brach to become a mindfulness mentor. I have a high standard of ethics and have trained in power consciousness with the Right Use of Power Institute.

What you can expect from me

Our work together will be practical, personalized, and grounded in your body. We begin by connecting with both your strengths and your shadows, clarifying your values, and mapping out what healing could look like for you. Then we build your healing toolkit: mindfulness, DBT skills for distress tolerance and emotional regulation, somatic work for to regulate your nervous system and release trauma held in the body, and IFS parts work to compassionately explore your inner world. Some sessions will focus on practical skill-building you can use immediately. Others go deeper, gently unburdening what you carry. Both are essential. You'll leave most sessions with something to practice — and a therapist who genuinely believes you can do more than survive.
