Great to meet you!

Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes that human connection is at the heart of healing. Megan brings warmth, compassion, and authenticity into every session, with the goal of helping clients feel truly seen and supported. Megan’s clinical background includes extensive training and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming care, trauma-focused treatment, and perinatal mental health. Megan has experience treating mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and stressor related disorders, substance use disorders, and severe mental illness. Megan also has experience providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for individuals navigating OCD and anxiety disorders.

Outside of the therapy room, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, young son, and their dog, as well as with family and friends. Music and singing are lifelong passions of hers, and she also loves adventuring, shopping, trying new cuisine, listening to live music, being spontaneous, soaking in the hot tub, and crystals. A Halloween enthusiast at heart, she has a special love for horror movies and all things spooky.

My approach to therapy

Megan’s approach is person-centered and flexible, drawing from DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic perspectives. At the core of Megan’s work is the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives, and with the support of a strong therapeutic alliance, can cultivate resilience and create fulfilling, balanced lives. Megan values human connection above all else and views the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of meaningful change. Building trust, rapport, and safety from the very beginning is at the heart of her work.

What you can expect from me

Your initial 15-20 minute consultation is a gentle, pressure-free space for us to connect. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping to work on, and what you’re looking for in a therapist. I’ll share how I approach therapy, answer any questions you may have, and help you get a sense of what working together could look like. My goal is for you to leave the consultation feeling informed, grounded, and confident about your next steps—whether that’s beginning therapy with me or exploring another path that best fits your needs.

Should you choose to begin your healing, therapeutic journey with me, your first full session is a deeper exploration of your story, your strengths, and the challenges you’re facing. During the intake and mental health assessment (biopsychosocial assessment), we’ll look at the whole picture of your well-being—your emotional world, relationships, health, environment, history, and daily stressors. This helps me understand how all the pieces of your life connect and what supports you best.

We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable, focusing only on what you’re ready to share. Together, we’ll begin clarifying your goals for therapy and identifying the starting points for your healing journey.
