Great to meet you!

I'm a family therapist who specializes in trauma and relationships. With over 9 years working with families, couples, and individuals, I have experience in school, community, and in-home environments. After earning my masters in family therapy at Purdue University, I earned my doctorate degree at the University of Georgia. Additionally, I completed training in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy. This is a trauma treatment approved by both the American Psychological Association and the Veterans Affairs for the treatment of PTSD. As a mom myself, I understand the joy and challenges of parenting.

My approach to therapy

I value a direct and transparent approach to therapy. I enjoy being playful and silly but am also willing to challenge or push when needed. My preferred interventions are emotionally-focused therapy (focusing on the ability to express and receive needs) and family systems work (attending to family patterns and roles). I specialize in trauma treatment through the use of EMDR, DBT, and somatic interventions. These interventions help clients create stronger relationships, communicate more clearly, and move past painful memories.

What you can expect from me

My clients are often working towards feeling more relaxed and in control of emotional reactions. I seek to help clients find new ways to talk to and care for their partner or children. Additionally, my trauma work seeks to reduce symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
