Great to meet you!

My name is Megan Shane. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have extensive experience working with adults, first responders, and military personnel in the areas of mental health and addiction.

My mission is to create a safe, supportive therapeutic environment where individuals can be open and honest without fear of judgment. I work collaboratively with clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, helping them build insight, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their sense of resilience.

In addition to individual work, I also support couples in improving communication, rebuilding trust, and deepening connection. I am committed to providing care that is respectful, individualized, and grounded in trust.

Above all, I want clients to feel understood, empowered, and genuinely supported as they move toward healing and meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe therapy works best when clients feel actively involved in their own healing, so I take a participatory style that invites open dialogue, reflection, and shared decision-making.

I strive to create an empowering and affirming environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences without judgment. While I take the work seriously, I also incorporate appropriate humor and warmth to help build connection, reduce tension, and make the therapeutic process feel more human.

I am open-minded and solution-oriented, helping clients identify patterns, develop practical strategies, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change. My goal is to meet each person exactly where they are and support them in becoming the strongest, most grounded version of themselves.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my priority is to get to know you—your story, your goals, and what brought you to therapy. We will explore what you’re hoping to change, what’s been getting in the way, and what you would like your life to look like moving forward. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, symptoms, and strengths, but the pace is always guided by your comfort level.

You can expect a warm, open, and nonjudgmental space where you can speak freely. Together, we’ll begin identifying your motivations for change, discussing any symptoms or challenges you’re facing, and exploring triggers or patterns that may be affecting your well-being. I will also start introducing practical tools and strategies you can use between sessions so you can begin feeling supported right away.

By the end of the first session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how we can work together, what our goals will be, and what the therapeutic process will look like—always with the aim of helping you build insight, increase confidence, and move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.
