Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Nichole, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Madison, WI and founder of Rootwell Counseling Collective.

I earned my masters degree from UW - Madison in 2019 and have been providing psychotherapy for adults ever since. I enjoy working with adults throughout the life span as each chapter in life presents different changes and challenges to navigate through. I focus on meeting people where they are at and from a strengths based perspective. Many of the clients I work with seek support related to anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, life changes, and relationships challenges.

Feel free to check out my website to learn a bit more about myself and my practice at rootwellcounselingcollective.com

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them. I believe meaningful change happens within a trusting therapeutic relationship, so I prioritize authenticity, curiosity, and meeting clients exactly where they are—without judgment.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), as well as several other modalities that I thoughtfully integrate based on each client’s goals, lived experiences, and strengths. I also take a holistic, person-centered approach that looks beyond any single framework, considering the entirety of the person—their history, relationships, patterns, environment, and current life stressors.

At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy should feel both supportive and empowering. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, connected, and equipped to navigate life with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they can show up exactly as they are. In the first session, my focus is on getting to know you—your story, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from the process. I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so I aim to create a space that feels comfortable, collaborative, and grounded in trust.

We’ll spend time discussing current challenges, relevant background information, and any goals or areas of growth you’d like to focus on. We can work through anxiety, trauma, depression, relationships - anything you are facing. I also welcome questions about the therapy process so we can determine what approach feels like the best fit for your needs.

My goal in early sessions is not only to better understand your experiences, but also to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as we begin working together.
