Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience caring for individuals across a wide range of healthcare settings. Throughout my career, I have worked in emergency medicine, correctional healthcare, addiction treatment, and community mental health, providing care to people facing complex psychiatric and substance use challenges.

Patients often appreciate my honest, straightforward approach. I believe in listening carefully, providing practical feedback, and working collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that aligns with each person's goals. My objective is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel respected, understood, and empowered to make meaningful progress in their mental health and recovery.

My approach to therapy

I believe effective mental health treatment begins with understanding the whole person, not just a diagnosis. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in honesty. I take time to understand your experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals so we can develop a treatment plan that is both practical and meaningful.

I provide straightforward feedback and education, helping you better understand your symptoms and treatment options. While medications can be an important tool, I also emphasize lifestyle factors, coping skills, relationships, recovery supports, and personal growth. My goal is to help you make informed decisions and become an active participant in your own care.

I have experience treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, substance use disorders, and serious mental illnesses (SMI) such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and other psychotic disorders. I also work with individuals struggling with treatment-resistant depression and offer evaluation for esketamine (Spravato) therapy when appropriate. For those in recovery from addiction, I provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and support long-term recovery through a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach.

Above all, I strive to create a safe environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to move toward lasting wellness.

What you can expect from me

During our first appointment, you can expect a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding your symptoms, history, goals, and the factors affecting your mental health. I believe in providing honest, straightforward feedback and working collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs.

Together, we may explore medication management, psychotherapy recommendations, treatment-resistant depression, and innovative treatments such as esketamine (Spravato). For individuals struggling with substance use disorders, I also offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and recovery-focused care. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and centered on helping you achieve meaningful, lasting improvement.
