Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Patrice Dumas Veraguth, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping individuals find balance and healing. I have over a 25-year work experience that integrates psychotherapy and, when appropriate, medication management to support mental health in a holistic way.

Education & Professional Background I am board-certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and hold licensure as a Professional Counselor. My background includes years of experience in both mental health and medical settings, giving me a unique perspective on the mind-body connection. I’ve worked with diverse populations in outpatient and inpatient care, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns.

Treatment Areas & Populations Served I specialize in treating young to older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life transitions. I also support individuals managing chronic health conditions and stress. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive space where clients feel understood and empowered.

My Approach I believe therapy is a collaborative process. I use evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness strategies, narrative and solution focused psychotherapy. When appropriate, I can integrate medication management to complement therapeutic work. My approach is warm, client-centered, and focused on helping you achieve meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy. I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help shift unhelpful thought patterns, Solution-Focused Therapy to identify strengths and practical steps forward, and Narrative Therapy to help you rewrite the stories that shape your life. I also incorporate mindfulness and stress-reduction techniques to build resilience. Every session is tailored to your unique needs and goals.

My goal is to empower you with tools and insights so you can navigate challenges, improve emotional well-being, and live a more balanced life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been challenging, explore your strengths, and set a plan for moving forward. My priority is to make you feel comfortable and supported as we begin this journey together.
