Great to meet you!

As a clinician, I deeply respect the courage and honesty that clients bring into the therapeutic space. It is a privilege to accompany others on the journey of expanding into the person they wish to become. Over the years, I’ve consistently witnessed our human capacity for growth and healing. While we all do the best we can with what we have, therapy offers a powerful opportunity to transcend current limitations and cultivate a more fulfilling, meaningful life.

I believe that relationships are essential to healing. As social beings, we require connection and community for change to occur—our brains and bodies are wired for relationship. I strive to create an environment of safety, respect, and authenticity, grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is a sacred partnership. Clients bring the expertise of their own life stories and vision for the future; I bring my clinical experience and education to support and facilitate the growth process.

My approach to therapy

After two decades in the business world, I returned to school to pursue counseling. Over the past 28 years, I’ve worked in a wide range of clinical settings: private and community agencies, military installations, shelters, and residential treatment programs for substance use. My current focus is on adults navigating trauma, substance use, and attachment-related challenges. I am trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing, all of which inform my current trauma-focused work.

What you can expect from me

As we begin to get to know each other during our first session, you will have the opportunity to share whatever matters to you in terms of desires and directions for your growth. Likely you will hear me say that, "You are welcome to share anything you want - and you are not required to share anything you wish to keep private." You may ask about my background and approaches. We may begin to consider choices for approaches in creating your desired outcomes.
