Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Paul. Seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety, depression, anger, relationship strain, or family conflict has left you feeling stuck. I work with adults, couples, families, and older adults who want greater clarity, healthier coping skills, and stronger relationships. With 36 years of experience, I support clients navigating men’s mental health concerns, marital difficulties, stress, ADHD, panic, bipolar disorder, substance use, trauma, grief and loss, chronic health conditions, and end-of-life transitions. For clients who want faith to be part of therapy, I also provide Christian counseling that respectfully integrates spiritual beliefs into our work. Together, we’ll identify recurring patterns, build emotional resilience, and create practical, personalized solutions for a healthier and more balanced life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, faith-sensitive, and solution oriented. I believe lasting change comes from understanding the patterns beneath your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while practicing skills that make everyday life more manageable. Depending on your needs, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Strength-Based Therapy, the Gottman Method, Family-Focused Therapy, psychoeducation, and family-based approaches. Our work may focus on reducing anxiety and depression, managing anger and stress, improving communication, rebuilding trust, strengthening relationships, or navigating grief, trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions. Christian principles can be integrated when desired, while therapy remains centered on your goals, values, and lived experience.

What you can expect from me

I understand that beginning therapy can feel scary or uncertain. You can expect an affirming and respectful space where we take time to understand what brought you in, what you hope will change, and what has or has not helped before. I will offer thoughtful questions, practical tools, and honest support as we develop a plan that fits your needs. Over time, our work can help you reduce stress, respond to difficult emotions more effectively, communicate with greater clarity, strengthen your relationships, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges. Whether you come individually, as a couple, or as a family, my goal is to help you create meaningful and lasting change.
