Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Paula Nemiroff-Polutanovich, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, heal from trauma, and find peace. I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University Northridge, I am licensed in California #133147 Montana #67070, and Arizona #16203. My specialized training includes Basic EMDR, CBT, DBT, anger management, and trauma-focused therapy, which allows me to provide deep emotional healing and support to my clients.

In my psychotherapy practice, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including teenagers, adults, seniors, and individuals with special needs or disabilities. As a fluent sign language user, I am passionate about providing accessible therapy for Deaf and Hearing communities and I understand Deaf culture. My goal is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to receive support in a way that feels comfortable, inclusive, and tailored to their unique needs. My multifaceted identities—mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend, teacher, colleague, therapist, and animal lover—have profoundly shaped who I am. These roles allow me to understand the unique challenges and joys of navigating life’s complexities. When we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist; you will connect with someone who truly understands what you are going through and is committed to helping you find healing and growth. Please note: Although, I am experienced with couple's therapy, I would prefer not to do this type of therapy due to the lower reimbursement rates than individual therapy.

My approach to therapy

As your therapist, I am dedicated to being present and curious about your unique experiences, which helps me understand you more fully. I believe that honesty is key in therapy, and I strive to create a space where you can be completely open. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where we can work together to foster your growth and celebrate every achievement—big or small.

I also believe that growth can come from embracing a healthy amount of conflict and challenging ourselves. If I feel that the client is holding themselves back or selling themselves short, I will encourage them to break through those barriers to discover their full potential.

What you can expect from me

My mission is to help individuals overcome the challenges of stress, fears, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship conflicts. By providing a safe and supportive space, I guide my clients through their struggles, equipping them with practical tools and coping strategies that foster healing, resilience, and long-term growth. I am committed to walking with my clients as they navigate their journey toward emotional balance and well-being.

My vision is deeply connected to my clients’ aspirations—to help them become the person they want to be. I believe that every individual has immense value and potential, and my goal is to support them in realizing that potential. Together, we work to transform emotional struggles into opportunities for personal growth, allowing them to build the life they envision for themselves.
