Great to meet you!

I have worked in psychiatric care from the bottom up since the late 1990s, so I have a pretty good comfort level in working with individuals living with mental illness. That is not to say that I haven't been surprised! I enjoy getting to know people, and have lofty expectations for both of us as a unified team in helping people to live their best lives. I am very interested in working with individuals in Idaho living with anxiety and mood disorders.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I have been able to form long-lasting working relationships with patients in my area. I enjoy getting to know my patients and sharing a laugh or two, but I expect my patients to be real with me when it comes to their symptoms and their treatment. I also expect patients to act as true partners in their care, and to be accountable. If you don't like the direction we are taking in managing your medications, speak up! We can find other ways to help you feel better.

What you can expect from our first session

I really want to get to the heart of your illness to help you live well, so I will ask a lot of questions. I may also give you assignments, or recommend activities to help you to learn about yourself and to get a handle on symptoms. I have been known to recommend therapy, especially if you have an extensive history of trauma, as I myself am not a therapist.
