I am passionate about working with marginalized groups, whether that is based on gender, sexuality, race, or neurodiversity. I also have extensive experience working with relationship problems, spirituality concerns, men’s issues, and suicidal thoughts. I use an integrative and person-centered style that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-focused Therapy (SFT), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) among others, in order to meet the varying needs of each person’s unique experience.
My style is very compassionate and empathetic, with my top priority being: making sure you feel heard and validated in your experiences. While I am supportive, I have been known to bring the receipts and keep my clients accountable to their goals and the changes they want to make. I feel there is a balance between challenging clients to make progress and recognizing that, often times, life can be brutal, throwing one thing after the other at us. Life can be incredibly stressful and having a validating space to process, reflect, or gain insight can make all the difference.
