Great to meet you!

I am Rasley (sounds like paisley) Easley and I am an Austin based mental health therapist with a love for people and a strong passion for helping others. I am licensed to practice in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My hope is to help people find their way to a path that meets their needs, empowers their voice, increases their coping skills and feels salient to them while seeking light, healing and laughter along the way. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Baylor University and my M.A. in Licensed Professional Counseling from Texas State University. My professional experience includes over a decade of providing social services including therapy to children and adults with traumatic backgrounds, transition age youth (16-25), older adults and people with early cognitive impairment/dementia diagnosis. My primary work focuses on assisting clients with coping with life transitions and relationship difficulties and issues. To me therapy is about culture, identity, creativity, connection, community, humanity and shared meaning. I look forward to walking this journey with you.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is eclectic, a flexible approach to psychotherapy that uses a variety of techniques and theories to tailor treatment to each individual's needs. I do this because I don't think one size fits all in general let alone when it comes to healing. I utilize trauma informed care as a baseline, solution focused elements and person centered therapy in particular the elements of unconditional positive regard. I utilize other modalities but those three elements are most consistently woven into therapeutic work with me.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect home work after most sessions because with therapy the work happens beyond what we do in session. Clients should also expect us to actively be working on the goals they came to work on even if the path is not linear because healing isn't linear. Finally, clients should also expect an environment to process and to do that we will work to build relationship and rapport so that the therapy feels like a safe space to share.
