Great to meet you!

Healing happens when your story is truly seen and honored. I'm Dr. Renee Nelson, DBH LPC, though most people call me Doc. I'm a Doctor of Behavioral Health and a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Chronic Health Conditions, and Infant/Family Mental Health. I work with people of all ages and backgrounds, and I especially enjoy supporting gender non-conforming and LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages, young adults, new mothers, and those navigating health or life challenges.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in evidence-based practices. You bring your expertise on your life and lived experience, and I bring my training and guidance.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I'll ask questions to get a full picture of your story - things like your background, health, relationships, strengths, and challenges you are facing. There are no right or wrong answers. It is simply a way for me to understand you more fully so we can create a plan that truly fits your needs and goals. By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer sense of direction, some initial strategies to begin using, and reassurance that you don't have to face things alone.
