Richard Carlson

I am a middle aged, white, gay, cis-gendered man, who has been helping clients with more complicated histories live more fully now. As a therapist I have been working with young adults and men who have experienced trauma and managed with behaviors that made their lives more challenging. I went to Rutger University and have worked at Princeton House Men's Trauma program and Rutgers University Counseling Services (CAPS) and in private practice for many years.

I work with clients from a compassionate, affirmative, collaborative, and wholistic perspective.

I help my clients see their painful experiences, their coping strategies with greater clarity, see the consequences of these choices, and create the capacity to chose new more helpful strategies.
