Richelle Nelson

My name is Richelle Nelson, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-D) in New York State. I obtained my master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Molloy College and am pursuing a PhD in counselor education and supervision at Capella University. I have experience providing individual, couples, family, and group counseling to first responders and civilians in a private practice setting where I work with children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with a wide range of disorders, including Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Moral Injury, Trauma Disorders, and Adjustment Disorder. I also provide clinical supervision to interns and pre-licensed mental health counselors.

My treatment modalities include Person-Centered Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

I believe in building a rapport with each person, that professional friendship, to create a therapeutic working relationship.
