Great to meet you!

Sabaidee, I’m Rita!

That’s “hello” in my native language, Lao. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.

I’m deeply honored to support folks from the Southeast Asian diaspora, children of refugees and immigrants, QTBIPOC communities, survivors of sexual trauma and gender-based violence, and those doing the hard work of organizing and fighting for justice. I also hold space for overachievers, young professionals navigating life transitions, and system-impacted individuals—including those who’ve experienced incarceration.

If any part of this speaks to your story, please know you’re not alone—and this space was created with you in mind. You and all parts of who you are are welcome here.

My approach to therapy

My approach draws from mindfulness, storytelling, and psychosomatic practices to help process and heal individual and collective trauma that lives in both our minds and bodies. My hope is that together, we can co-create an inclusive, warm, and empowering space to support you through life’s challenges and transitions.

I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and I also see joy, laughter, and play as essential parts of the healing process. Together, we can explore what’s making you feel stuck or stagnant, and come up with creative, grounded ways to build emotional resilience and move toward liberation.

What you can expect from me

Our first session—often called an "intake session"—is really a chance for us to connect and get to know each other.

It’s a space where we slow down, breathe, and begin building trust as a therapist-client team. We'll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you might have. I may ask about your personal history, support systems, and current challenges—not to overwhelm you, but to better understand the full picture of your nuanced experiences.

There’s no pressure to share everything all at once. You set the pace! :)
