Great to meet you!

Hello-My name is Ryan, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based out of

Southern California (Long Beach). I work with adolescent and adult males in an individual setting, and I

specialize in men's issues, substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and anger issues. It is

my goal to support you in getting back on track and finding your way again. I will help you identify

negative self-talk and faulty cognitive errors that are causing emotional pain and discomfort. My

approach involves providing you with the tools and techniques that will assist you in being the best

version of yourself- which is happy, joyous, and free. We can work together to modify thought processes

which will improve feelings, behaviors and outcomes.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapeutic orientation is cognitive and behavioral based, as well as solution focused. My approach is

geared toward helping identify negative thoughts and belief patterns which cause emotional discomfort

and unhealthy outcome results. I work with teens and adults who are struggling with substance abuse

issues, depression, and anxiety. You are not alone.

Most of the clients I work with are teen/adult males who are struggling with something in their lives and

need someone to help them work through it. Talking about what's going on inside is not easy, and most

of my clients need a space to get things off their chest so that they can process it, develop healthy

strategies for dealing with it, and eventually move past it and live their best life. Some of the things that a

lot of my clients seek therapy for include relationship issues, substance use issues, depression, anxiety,

and difficulty adjusting to events that have happened in their life.

What you can expect from our first session

In the first session, we will begin to establish a solid therapeutic rapport as well as get to know what led

you to make the decision to come to therapy at this time. Seeking out therapy isn't always the easiest

thing to do, and the fact that you are here needs to be recognized and validated. Have you tried therapy

before? What worked? What didn't? What did you like about it? What did you dislike about it? What has

been going on in your life that is hard for you? What are you struggling with? We will explore what

brought you to counseling, and what goals you would like to achieve. We will work on developing a

treatment plan that is designed to help you achieve those goals and outline strategies and techniques

that will guide our path.

I believe that being an authentic and genuine person allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level.

I feel that it is important for clients to feel heard and understood, and that is what I strive to provide at all

times. I bring a very real and non-judgmental approach to therapy, and it has been my experience that

this style allows for clients to feel safe and supported while working though some very challenging

issues.
