Great to meet you!

I'm Samantha Thornton, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 30 years in the mental health field.

I’ve worked in hospitals, clinics, crisis centers, schools, and private practice—so when I say I’ve seen a lot, I mean it. I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.

My passion lies in working with those who’ve experienced trauma, wrestle with life’s deeper questions, or have felt let down by traditional therapy.

If you’ve ever sat across from a therapist and thought, "They don’t get it," I want to change that. I specialize in helping people who’ve hit walls—emotionally, relationally, or existentially—break through them.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, and focused. I don’t do blank stares and nods—I’m in it with you. I use evidence-based methods like CBT, trauma-informed care, EMDR, and solution-focused strategies—but the work always centers around you.

We tackle what matters most, whether that’s healing from the past, navigating current chaos, or building a future with more clarity and peace.

I bring real-life grit, professional depth, and just enough humor to keep things human.

What you can expect from me

Clients often leave sessions with more than insight—they leave with tools, perspective, and a sense of movement. Whether we’re deconstructing trauma, untangling relationships, or finding purpose in pain, you’ll know I’m walking with you, not dragging you.

Expect a judgment-free space where authenticity is welcome and growth is possible—even if it gets messy.

The end goal? More peace, more agency, and a stronger connection to who you are and where you’re going.
