Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Sara Viola, LCSW. I’m a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma-informed and integrative therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and the lasting impact of past experiences, including complex trauma (C-PTSD). I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from multiple frameworks to meet each person where they’re at. My work focuses on helping clients process and work through trauma, understand how past experiences continue to shape present patterns, and shift internal narratives that no longer feel supportive or aligned.

My approach to therapy

The therapeutic relationship is central to my work. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore your experiences, and met with understanding rather than judgment. I focus on creating a space that feels genuine and collaborative, where you can show up as yourself and feel truly understood. I see therapy as a space for healing, reflection, and meaning-making.

My approach is holistic, with attention to the mind-body connection and the nervous system. I often use a mix of constructive narrative therapy, parts-work, and mindfulness in my practice, but always tailor my treatment and interventions to each specific client. I am also trained in EMDR and have experience running groups for survivors of trauma.

Overall, my work really focuses on supporting clients in processing past experiences, developing emotional regulation, and strengthening self-esteem and self-trust.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect the first session to feel conversational, supportive, and collaborative rather than overly clinical or rigid. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up honestly and at your own pace. In our first session, we’ll spend time exploring what’s bringing you to therapy, the challenges you’ve been carrying, patterns you’ve been noticing, and what you hope to gain from the process.
