Great to meet you!

My name is Sarah and I’ve been a psychotherapist + Licensed Clinical Social Worker for nearly a decade. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and my master's degree (MSW) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While I successfully treat a wide variety of issues, I’m particularly experienced in helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, phase of life issues + substance abuse issues.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is something everyone can benefit from. You do not need to be in crisis and you do not have to be at the lowest point in your life...making the decision to connect with a therapist means you’ve made the decision to work towards being the healthiest version of yourself. My preferred treatment modalities to utilize in therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and mindfulness. I will help you determine which therapeutic style and approach would be most helpful to you!

What you can expect from me

We will set goals together and ensure that you are set up for success as you work towards crushing your therapy goals. My therapeutic style is warm, laid back, and conversational. I will hold you accountable, but never in a judgmental or intimidating way. I aim to create a space that feels more like talking with a trusted friend than sitting in a formal session. While the work we do together is meaningful, I believe healing happens best when you're comfortable, at ease, and free to be yourself. As your therapist, I promise to be a steadfast support for you on your good days, and your bad days too.
