Great to meet you!

In addition to private practice, I have worked as a school psychologist for 20 years. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages, & their parents. I have the added expertise of understanding families whose children have special needs. I am a fierce child & family advocate & can help navigate the complicated world of special education.

My approach to therapy

My approach is generally solution-focused, based on the premise that it's easier to make changes based on our strengths than our deficits. My style is down-to-earth, friendly, and collaborative. There is no problem too big that we can’t resolve together in a collaborative style. I build a therapeutic relationship on mutual respect & support people using their strengths to overcome challenges. I greatly enjoy my work and consider it an honor to be invited into the lives of the people I work with.

What you can expect from me

I consider myself a humanistic and Narrative therapist. Narrative therapy seeks to be a respectful, non-blaming approach to counseling and community work that centers people as the experts in their own lives. It views problems as separate from people and assumes people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments, and abilities that will assist them in reducing the influence of problems in their lives.
