Great to meet you!

Cheers to you! Why? For reaching out and prioritizing your mental health, overall wellness and happiness! It is not always an easy step and I am proud of you for doing so!

I’m Shannon- I have been working in the field for over 10 years and I can say I truly LOVE what I do. I find that helping others to better understand their thoughts and thinking patterns is very complex, individualized, difficult but also exciting when things click! I have experience working in trauma / crisis, residential programming, outpatient counseling and overseeing community mental health agencies for people of all ages. I have a strong passion for working with anyone ages 2-65 whom have experienced some sort of traumatic event in their life alongside working with individuals, children, families and couples to have the opportunity to support each person in feeling that they are able to be their best self.

My approach to therapy

I have a strong belief in seeing each person as their individual being, and with that, their own respective needs. I like to say that I have a "person centered" therapy approach. As a therapist, it is my job to continue to learn techniques and strategies that can support you, and I too enjoy learning to add supports, strategies and unexpected outlets to my own tool belt! I am a firm believer that the therapeutic process should be tailored to fit you and your needs, which will best support you in being successful in feeling more positive!

What you can expect from me

Most importantly, you can expect to take away the understanding that you are VALID in all of your feelings, however, there are times in which we struggle to understand where we come from. The therapeutic process is not always easy nor is it linear. However, I will always remind you and work to support you in creating 'mini milestones' to achieve, in order to recognize the changes and progress that you have gained in order to reach your overall goals.
