Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Sharon Harris, Licensed Therapist with 40 years of experience helping individuals navigate life transitions, aging process and role as a caregiver, medical issues, depression and anxiety. I earned my degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. Over the years my specialty has focused on geriatrics and disabled individuals. My therapeutic approach is primarily CBT and interventions focused on helping to build resilience. My goal is to create a warm, safe, non-judgemental space where we can work together toward your personal growth

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I tailor my methods to meet the unique life stage and needs of each individual. With four decades of experience specializing in geriatrics and disability, I focus on practical interventions that help you build resilience and navigate complex role changes. I believe in a collaborative partnership where we use your existing strengths to tackle depression, anxiety, or the challenges of caregiving. My style is warm and active, ensuring you feel supported while gaining the tools to manage life's transitions with greater ease.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on creating a comfortable space where you feel truly heard as we discuss your history and current goals. We’ll begin to identify the specific challenges you’re facing—whether related to life transitions, caregiving, or health—and outline a collaborative plan for moving forward. My aim is for you to leave our initial meeting with a sense of relief and a clear understanding of how we will work together to build your resilience
