Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Dr. Soeun Park. I provide ongoing individual psychotherapy in Korean and English. Some of my focus areas are parent-adult children relationships, high-achieving anxiety or depression, and immigrants' well-being. I graduated from Seoul National University and obtained a Ph.D. degree from the University of Iowa. I completed an internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Counseling and Psychological Services. I am an assistant professor at Cal Poly Pomona.

My approach to therapy

I am a therapist with a warm presence, sharp observation skills, and wide and open worldviews. I mainly draw on relational, process-oriented, and brief dynamic approaches. I also integrate mindfulness, cognitive behavioral interventions, and trauma-informed care. Additionally, I attend to identities, cultures, and systems with a holistic perspective and use this understanding to explore wounds as well as resources.

What you can expect from me

It is my goal to be an emotionally, culturally, and contextually responsive therapist. I strive to alleviate suffering with compassion while genuinely being open about here-and-now experiences. Your self-growth, insight, and self-compassion are highlighted and empowered in this space.
