Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Sonya McCollum, and I specialize in women's mental health. I am dedicated to supporting women on their journey toward healing and personal growth. I understand that seeking therapy can be a significant step, often accompanied by a mix of apprehension and hope. You may be navigating feelings of anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or trauma, and I want you to know that you are not alone. I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 25 years and have been successful in helping women find their way through their mental health challenges through genuine support, practical tools and gentle guidance through those tough life experiences, allowing her to have an Encounter of Herself like never before. Are you ready to Encounter HER? I can't wait to share in your experience!

My approach to therapy

What sets me apart in this field is my Christian based, holistic approach. My specialty is trauma informed care, helping women heal through the many difficulties that life brings. I use various treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), meeting my clients where they are emotionally, and helping to develop a treatment plan that is geared towards total healing.

What you can expect from me

I use the acronym SAT to share what you can expect to take away from sessions with me. S-Support, I am intentional in providing support to all my clients; Accountability-I gently provide accountability to clients as we move towards healing and change desired; Tools-You will leave sessions with realistic and helpful tools from session to session to help you feel empowered as you navigate life in between sessions and become more acquainted with who you are and who you are becoming.
