Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical social worker with advanced graduate-level training in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy. I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program, which included extensive coursework in psychopathology, clinical assessment, DSM-based diagnosis, trauma-informed care, human behavior across the lifespan, and social justice–oriented practice.

Post-graduate, I have completed ongoing continuing education and advanced trainings focused on evidence-based and best-practice interventions, including but not limited to:

  • Trauma-informed and trauma-focused treatment approaches
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Anxiety, mood, and stress-related disorders
  • ADHD assessment and treatment planning
  • Clinical risk assessment and safety planning
  • Cultural humility, ethics, and professional standards of care

I routinely participate in professional webinars, workshops, and seminars to maintain licensure requirements and to stay current with evolving clinical research, ethical guidelines, and standards of practice. My training is supported by extensive supervised clinical experience in outpatient and community-based settings, working with diverse populations across the lifespan.

This combination of formal education, post-graduate training, and ongoing professional development supports my ability to provide ethical, competent, and evidence-based clinical services.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based and trauma-informed practice. I work to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I view the therapeutic relationship as central to the work and prioritize building trust, rapport, and emotional safety from the outset.

Clinically, I integrate interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), informed approach, and strengths-based therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, and cultural context. I focus on helping clients develop insight into patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior while also building practical coping skills to manage distress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall functioning.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, stress, ADHD, and life transitions. My work often includes support with emotion regulation, executive functioning, self-esteem, boundary setting, and interpersonal effectiveness. I emphasize collaborative treatment planning, clear goals, and ongoing evaluation of progress to ensure therapy remains meaningful and effective.

Overall, my style is warm, attuned, and gently directive—balancing validation and support with thoughtful challenge to promote growth, resilience, and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where the primary focus is on building rapport and helping them feel comfortable and understood. I take time to learn about what brought the client to therapy, their current concerns, relevant history, strengths, and what they hope to gain from treatment. Sessions are paced collaboratively, with attention to emotional safety and respect for each client’s readiness to share.

I also provide an overview of the therapeutic process, including confidentiality, informed consent, and how we will work together. When appropriate, I begin a comprehensive assessment to better understand symptoms, stressors, and functioning, while ensuring the session does not feel overwhelming or overly clinical.

By the end of the first session, clients typically leave with a clearer understanding of their goals for therapy, an initial sense of direction, and reassurance that they are not alone in the process. Early goals often include symptom stabilization, increasing insight, and identifying immediate coping strategies or supports. Above all, the first session is designed to establish trust, clarity, and a strong foundation for meaningful and effective therapeutic work.
