I am particularly comfortable treating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders as well as complex cases that may involve co-occurring conditions like trauma or substance use disorders. My focus is on providing tailored, evidence-based care to help my patients achieve balance and emotional well-being.

I was drawn to the specialization in in addiction treatment and mental healthcare due to the profound impact that these stigmatized illnesses have on overall well-being and quality of life. My approach to therapy

I find it incredibly rewarding to see patients regain control over their lives and achieve stability through the appropriate use of medication, making a positive difference in their daily experiences and build strong family and social relationships.

I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where patients feel safe and understood. I believe in fostering a collaborative space, where open communication is encouraged and patients feel empowered to share their thoughts and concerns. My goal is to make each session feel supportive and productive, allowing patients to leave feeling more confident in their path toward healing and mental well-being.

What you can expect from me

Being a dual board-certified nurse practitioner, Dr. Kurian is passionate about providing efficient, timely, equitable, patient-centered, holistic care to improve the process of care delivery and to promote the health care outcomes.

When approaching goal setting with patients, I focus on symptom management and improving daily functioning. I work collaboratively with patients to set realistic, achievable goals that align with their treatment plan, typically centered around reducing the intensity or frequency of their symptoms through medication. We regularly review progress and adjust the goals as necessary, whether that’s finding the right medication dosage, minimizing side effects, or enhancing the overall quality of life. The treatment goals are always tailored to the individual’s needs and are flexible based on how they respond to treatment.
