Great to meet you!

I find immense fulfillment in helping people to grow and achieve personal goals. I've worked in substance use counseling and supported clients through major life transitions. I'm really passionate about women's health and maternal issues, especially with my own experiences as a mother of two. My drive for this work really comes down to helping people live their lives without being held back by mental health challenges.

My approach to therapy

My approach is all about meeting you where you're at, not putting my preconceived notions on you. I use motivational interviewing to help you realize what your goal is and where you want to be, because the goal might not be what I think it should be, it's what you think it should be. I work with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help you differentiate the thoughts you have from who you are as a person. Together, we'll work on making those thoughts more aligned with how you want to live your life and being able to cope with challenges and emotions as they come up.

What you can expect from me

I know first sessions are really hard because you're laying everything out there to a stranger. My goal is for you not to feel judged, for you to feel like you're getting a warm reception, for you to feel understood. I want it to feel like a conversation while still gathering the information we need. I'll be upfront about the process and explain what to expect in our first session and beyond, so you feel comfortable and know what's coming. That connection in the first session is so important, it's how you know if we're a good fit, and how we build the foundation for you to achieve your goals.
