About Me
It is the desire of every human being to be loved, accepted, and to feel a sense of belonging. While our experiences shape us, they do not define us. Life's challenges, whether rooted in past experiences, current stressors, relationships, grief, or major life transition, can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from ourselves and others.
With more than 23 years of clinical experience, I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. My areas of focus include relationship concerns, childhood trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming care, and helping individuals navigate personal growth and self-discovery.
I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your concerns openly, gain deeper insight, and move toward the life and relationships you want.
What is your approach to therapy? My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel both supported and challenged. Together, we will explore the patterns, experiences and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck while building on the strengths and resilience you already possess.
I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based interventions, trauma-informed care, solution-focused strategies, and insight-oriented work. Whether you are seeking support for relationship difficulties, anxiety, trauma, grief, identity exploration or life transitions, therapy will be tailored to your unique needs and goals.
My style is warm, participatory and solution-oriented. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback and help you develop practical tools to create meaningful change.
What can clients expect from their first session with you?The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and determine whether we're a good fit. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing and what you hope to gain from our work together. I'll also ask questions about your personal history, relationships, strengths, and support systems so I can better understand your experiences.
My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood and with a clearer sense of direction. Together we'll begin identifying goals for therapy and develop a plan that feels realistic and aligned with what matters most to you.
